Frequently
Asked Questions
Healthy Dog Cookies
Q: What
flavors of dog cookies do you have?
A: We have 5 original flavors of healthy dog treats that we sell all year round. These dog treats are Carob Chip, Carob Carob Chip, Mint Carob Chip, P.B. Fresh and Old Fashioned Peanut Butter.
Q: Do you have any healthy dog treats flavors that will freshen dog breath?
A: Yes, both our Mint Carob Chip and P.B. Fresh dog treats were formulated
to help freshen dog breath. Both of these healthy dog treats contain
mint and parsley. The mint gives a powerful burst of freshness
as soon as your dog sinks his/her teeth in. The parsley helps
freshen dog breath at the source, in the dogs stomach.
Q: Will
you have seasonal flavors of healthy dog treats that are only available
during certain times of the year?
A: Yes, We
do have seasonal flavors of dog cookies that are available
only for a limited time. So far we have had Mellow Mutt which
were made from bannana and chamomile to help calm your dogs
nerves. We also offered another seasonal cookie
for the autumn season Pumpkin Spice!
Q: How
many healthy dog treats do I get in a bag of cookies?
A: We currently offer our healthy dog cookies in two quantities 13 cookies bags and 24 cookie bags.
Q:Are
your healthy dog treats safe for ALL dogs?
A: When creating
our healthy dog treats we took every precuation possible to provide
the safest and most nutritious all-natural dog treats intended
for all dogs. Compare the ingredients we use in our healthy dog treats to the ingredients list of any other dog treat made by another
comapny. Time and time againg you will always find at least
one of the following in the other brands
cookies....poor quality ingredients, animal by-products,
sugar (aka sucrose), corn syrup, molases, honey or other
unpronouncable lab created ingredients. Unless your dog has
a uncommon medial condition or uncommon allergic reaction
to one of our ingredients in our dog treats are considered safe
for all healthy dogs. When in doubt ask your veterinarian. Tip: If your dog does have special needs please contact
us and we will discuss how we can create a special order of healthy dog treats for you and your dog.
Q: How
many of your healthy dog treats can I safely give my dog?
A: Whether
the treats you give your dog are healthy or not,
you should always moderate how many you should give them.
Remember no one knows your dog like you do. If your dog is
small a couple of dog treats a day should be plenty. If
your dog is a larger breed you can get away with giving him/her
quite a few more dog treats if you wish. Someone wise
once said, "Too much of a good thing is an awesome thing,
but too much of an awesome thing can become a really stupid
thing." In other words, be generous with the dog cookies
but be careful not to give your dog too many treats. He/she might
get bored with it, or even start to gain weight if he/she
eats a lot of treats and doesn't get much of a workout. Tip: Be generous but be smart.
Q:Will
my dog prefer your healthy dog treats over his/her regular food? Will
this be a problem?
A: (See previuos
question)
Q: Are
your healthy dog treats considered "Diet"?
A: We don't consider
our dog treats "diet" but some might call it that since we
do not use any sugar or other unhealthy ingredients. We generally consider
our dog teats to be "Gourmet" becouse we use the best ingredients
possible and we leave out anything unpure. The end result
is delicious dog treats that no dog can resist.
Q:Will
your healthy dog treats go bad?
A: We include
a oxgen absorber in each bag of healthy dog treats to help maintain
freshness. After opening the bag be
sure to store the dog treats in a air tight container with
the oxygen absorber. Be sure the dog treats stay dry and
store them in a cool dry place, they should stay good for
well over a month. Tip: Freeze the dog treats and give them to your dog as a refreshing
frozen treat. Albert really likes the frozen mint carob chip
cookies.
Q: What
if the dog treats I orderd arrive spoiled? What If
I need to return your cookies for some other reason?
A: In
the unexpected event that you need to return the dog treats. Please, contact
us as soon as possible so that we can resolve your problem immediately.
When leaving a message please be as detailed as possible so
that we might be able to resolve your problem quickly as possible.
**If a return is required you will be asked to pay the return
postage for the unwanted items and you will be reimbursed the
cost of your dog treats and return shipping costs or we will send
you a replacement if you choose.
Q: What
are your healthy dog treats made of?
A: The main
ingredient in all of our healthy dog treats is organic whole wheat
pastry flour. All of the ingredients we use in our dog treats are the same ingredients that you would find in ordinary
store bought dog treats. The diffrence is that we use ingredients
that are a much higher quality than what other common dog
treat companies provide. Normal store bought dog treats are created in a lab from scraps of animals left over from "people
quality" food production. Equally as important as the
use of higher quality ingredients, is the absence of the bad
ingredients in our healthy dog treats that other dog treat companies
use that are known to be halmful to their health, like corn
syrup, sugar and garlic.
Q: Why
dog cookies?
A: Cookies
are one of those forbidden foods that dogs always see their
owners eating but rarely get to taste. When your dog
eats our dog cookies he will think that he is eating
the real deal and may even be cautious at first.
Q: Your
healthy dog treats are hand made? What exactly does that mean?
A: All of our
healthy dog treats are hand made the old fashioned way with not much
more than a bowl and spoon. This way we can ensure that each
and every batch receives the right amount of care and attention,
not to mention that extra dose of love.
Q: I
have a great idea for a new line of dog treats! Will you make it for
me?
A: We are always open to
new ideas and suggestions. If you have a new dog treat idea
that you would like to try we will be more than happy to work
with you to make your idea a reality. Contact
us through the contact page of our website to let us know
about your great idea.
Q: My
child just ate some of your dog treats, should I be concerned?
A: All of our
healthy dog treats are made with 100% human grade ingredients so
there is no need to be concerned. However your child may
have a unfavorable taste in his or her mouth since our dog treats are not very palatable for humans because we do not use any
form of sweeteners or sugar to the dog treats. **Our dog
treats are intended to be eaten by dogs.
Q: The
dog treats I bought started to grow mold shortly after I bought
them. How can I prevent this from happening?
A: Since we
do not use any preservatives on our healthy dog treats, special
precautions need to be taken to ensure that the dog treats stay fresh and unspoiled. Be sure that the dog cookies stay
completely dry and are stored in an air tight container with
the oxygen obsorber that was included with the dog treats packaging to ensure that they stay fresh. You
can also add a piece of a cinnimon stick to the container
of healthy dog treats to act as a natural preservative or you can
freeze the dog treats to give your dog a cool treat. Tip: Be sure the dog cookies stay completely dry.
Q: I
bought some healthy dog treats from you a while ago but the flavor
is no longer available. What happend to it?
A: Albert's
Finest currently offers five healthy dog treat flavors at all times.
We also have specialty dog cookie flavors that
are only around for a limited time for seasons or holidays.
We accept special orders with restrictions. Contact
us to find out more.
Q: Will
the dog treats create a stain on my carpet?
A: We reccomend
letting your dog eat the cookies over a flat easilly cleanable
surface, but if your dog eats the cookie over your carpet and
leaves crumbs. It should easilly be vaccumed up.
Ingredients in our Healthy Dog Treats
Q: What makes the ingredients in your healthy dog treats better than the other dog treats out there?
A: Our quality
guarantee sets
our standards far above what the other dog treat companies
and dog cookie bakeries have reached.
Q: What is carob?
A: Carob is used as a safe chocolate substitute for dogs. In powder form carob has a similar consistency and tastes similar to cocoa but without the caffine and harmful side effects. For human consumption carob has been said to be a better match for fruit than chocolate.
Q: I noticed that the ingredients list of PB Fresh and Mint Carob Chip dog treats list parsley as an ingredient. Why?
A: The PB Fresh
and Mint Carob Chip dog treats are intended to freshen dog breath. The mint instantly helps freshen dog breath in the mouth while the parsley helps freshen dog breath at
the scource, in the stomach.
Q: Since
Albert's Finest insists on the best quality possible then
why aren't ALL of your healthy dog treats100% organic?
A: Our healthy dog treats are made with 100% organic ingredients whenever and wherever
possible. However not all of our ingredients can be found in
the organic variety so we use all natural ingredients in those
instances. We are contantly looking for new organic ingredients
that were previously unavailable to us. If you have information
about organic ingredients that we do not currently use or know
about, feel free to let us know via our contact
page.
Q: What are animal by-products and why don't you use them?
A: Animal by-products are commonly found in pet feeds and pet treats and is usually (but not always) created from grinding the stripped animal carcas left over after butchering and removing the desireable parts used for human consumption. These rejected parts may include Beef spines and brains (which have been linked to certain diseases in pets), chicken feet and anything else left over excluding only hair, hooves and horns. The current standards for animal by-products even allow the inclusion of parts from sick, dying, or dead animals. Why would anyone want to feed this junk to their dog?
Q: Whats wrong with food coloring and preservatives?
A: Studies have
shown that food coloring and preservatives increase hyperactivity,
including ADHD in kids. Your dogs body works and functions much
like a childs body. Much like humans, hyperactivity and diabetes
are also found in dogs and are becoming more and more common.
Q: Why should I be able to pronounce the ingredients in my dogs food?
A: The unpronounceable ingredients that you find in your dogs food and sometimes even your own are usually made in a lab by adding chemicals, taking out molecules and processing it untill a completely new un-natural substance is formed. It is belived that the denaturing of food (processing a natural substance into something that can not be found in nature) makes the substance unrecognizable by the body and the body will then either reject the substance through waste (and not contribute nutritionally as intended) or store the substance in fat cells to get it out of the way causing increased toxin levels.
Q: All
of the ingredients in the healthy dog treats are human grade? Does
that mean I can eat them?
A: All of the
ingredients we use in our healthy dog treats are human grade but the
recipes were designed with a dogs taste palate in mind. Since
the dog treats are free of any type of sweetener the cookies won't
taste very good. After ignoring warnings that the cookies are
intended for dogs, people have eaten
our dog cookies and informed us that they actually enjoyed the
flavor. Our dog cookies are not intended for human consumption.
Q: All
of the ingredients in the healthy dog treats are human grade? I
thought dogs were not supposed to eat "people food"?
A: All of our
ingredients are human grade but the end product is not
considered people food. Our treats are safe and approved for
dog consumption. All of our ingredients are commonly found
in dog food and dog treats that can easily be found in most pets
stores. "People food," that dogs should not eat are table scraps
and other foods not approved for dog consumption.
